‘Anna Charged’ (she/her) is an ex-parliament, ex-government, ex-police officer, current feminist writer, equality activist, entrepreneur and host at A Woman Charged Podcast.
Working in the Rape & Sexual Assault and Domestic Abuse Teams, Anna was shocked and frustrated by engendered stereotypes and attitudes towards women and sexuality. The consistent links between family and domestic violence and sexual abuse were unacceptable, and she began her mission to combine her two passions: feminism and pleasure!
After having two children, Anna understands the important part that sexuality and sensuality plays in every woman’s health throughout her entire life. She believes that every woman should know how to access her body’s ability to give her pleasure.
Whilst on maternity leave with her second child, Anna created sexual wellness brand happymash: an ecommerce store for people with vulvas. happymash creates content for cis-gendered women and non-binary people who understand that the space centres around the pleasurable experiences of women.
Through her debut range of pleasure products, Anna introduces The Know Yourself Range to Aussie vulva-owners, encouraging them to get to know themselves intimately, and ultimately “close the orgasm gap”.
Anna’s intention to close the pleasure gap extends to her work for Verve Men’s Clinic which works to recharge men’s health, by offering new and emerging treatments for men who suffer from erectile dysfunction.
Anna will be practising managing and changing up her marketing style – this time to penis-owners, as opposed to vulva-owners!
